you call this the, “intelligencer”? Calling the opposing viewpoint stupid is intelligent?

Dr. Bob, I’m completely with keeping the price of tobacco low and the sale of it uninhibited to legal aged people, but could you spare five minutes to make sure you’re not coming off like just as much an ass as the anti’s?

Great article….first time that I have found anyone especially an MD have anything positive to say about smoking.
In January I had a stent implanted….and my cardiologist is “demanding” that I give up my cigars. I was smoking maybe one every 3 days.
Could I switch to a pipe? Would this be less harmful to my body; especially circulation and heart?
Would like to hear your opinion. Need to relieve the stress!

…and to finish the previous for i pressed the wrong button; Hitler was the world’s major antismoker, remember the scene in the movie when ‘fuhrer’s dead’ is announced then everybody lights up a cigarette. Cigarettes are a real bad habit, so they should even be prohibited or get another way to wrap tobacco except chlorine paper; cigars are too bad to other’s noses and pipes are the less annoying while in good ventilated places. Don’t let everything in the same bucket.

Sir,

I enjoyed reading your article. In doing so it brought to mind my
visit to the hospital to see my Mother who was succumbing to cancer. At that time (70′s) I remember being able to smoke in the room. There was never mention let alone a second thought about “lighting up” in a hospital ( unless oxygen was being administered).
How things have changed.

Hey Bob,
Great article. I hope people start to take action because this is really getting out of hand. It just doesn’t make any sense and I’m not just saying this because I smoke pipes and cigars.

Governor Patrick in MA is trying to put more taxes on tobacco to make up for the defecits in his budget. It has nothing to do with health and everything to do with money It has to stop somewhere. We all need to start doing more.
