Contest
We are moving on to our second PSI contest.
This time, I am changing things up just a bit.
The rules remain the same however: No more than 25 words. Deadline is Sept. 25, just to remind you that you must keep your tome within 25 words or face the editor’s guillotine.
In no more than 25 words, finish the Kipling line: “And a woman is only a woman, but a good pipe is a. . . . ”
Before I get a lot of messages, let me just say that I know how the line goes: “And a woman is only a woman, but a good Cigar is a Smoke.” We are substituting “pipe” for “cigar” and then you must finish the sentence in 25 words or less.
Put your thinking caps on, grab a bowl fill it full and write away.
The top five (picked by an impartial judge, of course) will receive an 8 0z. tin of your favorite tobacco from Cornell & Diehl.

Cornell & Diehl
Deadline is Sept. 25, which should be a reminder to keep your words to 25. And this gives you a little over one month to write your finest.
Winners will be named in a followup post. I will then need the winners to email me the name of their favorite C&D tin, which I will forward to C&D. I will need a snail mail address for winners.
Only one entry per person. Sorry. That’s the golden rule. And remember, he who has the gold, makes the rule.
Send entries to editor@pipesmokersintelligencer.org
So, sharpen those pencils. Or crank up the old word processor. Write your best, and thenĀ submit your entry below.
Good luck to all!

It was a close call between pointing out the pipes lack of a monthly cycle versus its quiet pleasures.
trying to enter your contest but your spam code will not work, my finish to the quote was “A woman is only a woman, but a pipe is a welcome friend anytime day or night”
Anthony:
We have stopped the contest.
I just could not keep up with it in light of what the site is set up to do, and that is to report on what is happening to the pipe tobacco businesses in today’s political and social environment.
Thanks for your interst, and I hope you continue to read PSI.
All best,
Fred Brown
